Martyn Starnes has been announced as the new Chief Executive at Plymouth Argyle.

The 58-year old held the same position at Yeovil Town for five years before leaving to join the Pilgrims.

Starnes will bring some much-needed administrative experience to Home Park and will play a major role in helping the club become financially sustainable.

Starnes also held the role of Chief Executive at Swindon Town and was responsible for the successful stadium, commercial, finance and football operations at Huish Park.

Argyle have been lacking a CEO for a number of years; someone who could oversee the day-to-day running of the football club so this appointment adds to the positive news coming out of Home Park this summer.
Starnes will be instrumental in maximising income from the new grandstand which is set to be completed during 2014.

The Plymouth Argyle Supporters Board will also now have a figurehead at the club in which to communicate with.

Welcome aboard the good ship Mayflower.
