Argyle have made a financial profit for year 2014.

It’s the first profit the club has made since 2007-2008 and only the eighth time Argyle have made a profit in the last 20 years.

Argyle owner James Brent revealed the good news when speaking to the Herald today, he said the cash profit was in the ‘tens of thousands’ and due to increased revenue from ticket and retail sales.

To make a profit less than four years after exiting administration is a fantastic achievement, especially when considering not many football clubs are able to make a profit.

The last time the club made a profit was during the 2007-2008 season when £1.4 million was posted by the previous regime, although this profit appeared artificial due to the club selling several players to cover debts.
