January was a busy month for new Argyle manager John Sheridan.

Sheridan has only been in charge for two games, however, he has been very busy during the January transfer window making six new signings and releasing three players.
Youngster Isaac Vassell also had his contract extended.

Sheridan’s January wheeling and dealing:

Out

Joe Lennox – released.
Rhys Griffiths – released.
Robbie Williams – released.

In

Guy Branston – defender, free agent, signed until the end of the season.
Ronan Murray – striker, on loan from Ipswich Town until the end of the season.
Gozie Ugwu – striker, one month loan from Reading.
Anthony Charles – defender, released by Northampton, signed until the end of the season.
Reuben Reid – striker, one month loan from Yeovil Town.
Jason Banton – winger, one month loan from Crystal Palace.

Argyle fans have become accustomed to players leaving Home Park during the January transfer window so six new signings is a welcome change and will give everyone a boost in the fight against relegation.

Good luck!

In other Argyle related transfer news former keeper Luke McCormick left Truro City and signed for Oxford United, who are visitors to Plymouth later this month, and Alex MacDonald, a fans’ favourite from two loan spells at Home Park, moved from Burnley to Burton on-loan.

Some good signings although the lack of a central midfielder could come back and haunt us.
