Argyle’s four game winning run over the holiday period was the best set of results during Christmas since the last time the Greens were promoted.

The fantastic Christmas wins against Hartlepool, Yeovil, Newport and Carlisle cemented Argyle’s place at the top of League Two.

The last time Argyle had four consecutive wins during the Christmas period was in the promotion season 2003-2004 when the Division Two title was secured.
During that holiday period the Greens beat Notts County, Bournemouth, Brentford and a 7-0 thrashing of Chesterfield at Home Park.
That Christmas run of wins was part of a seven game winning run that started in November of that season.

Argyle did have three wins and a draw over Christmas in the 2013-2014 season but it doesn’t match the set of results from this season and 2003-2004. The omens look good!
