Argyle’s home record has considerably improved over the last three seasons.

Despite the recent defeats at Home Park Argyle’s record at home this season is the fourth best in League Two, only bettered by Doncaster, Colchester and Portsmouth, with two games still to play.

The improved home form over the last three years follows six seasons of terrible results at Home Park

This season, for only the third time in nine years, Argyle have won more games at Home Park than the opposition.
For six successive seasons, stretching back to 2008, the Greens never won more games at home than the visiting team.

Previous manager John Sheridan and now Derek Adams have bucked the trend and turned around a sequence of six successive seasons of poor results at Home Park.
Not once in each of the six home campaigns from 2008 to 2014 did Argyle win more games than the opposition and in five of those seasons the opposition also out-scored Argyle on their own patch.
The one season Argyle did manage to score more goals than the away team it was by just one goal!

However, that has all changed with Sheridan winning 13 games, drawing six and losing just four games in 2014-2015 and Adams continuing the good home form over the last two seasons.

Fans have shown concern regarding this season’s form at Home Park but it is still the fourth best home record in League Two and certainly a lot better than the misery suffered at home for six successive seasons beginning in 2008.

Argyle’s home record since 2008:

Season 2008-2009 Championship – won 7, drawn 5, lost 11. Goals scored 31, conceded 35.

Season 2009-2010 Championship – won 5, drawn 6, lost 12. Goals scored 20, conceded 30.

Season 2010-2011 League One – won 9, drawn 4, lost 10. Goals scored 27, conceded 33.

Season 2011-2012 League Two – won 6, drawn 9, lost 8. Goals scored 23, conceded 26.

Season 2012-2013 League Two – won 8, drew 7, lost 8. Goals scored 25, conceded 24.

Season 2013-2014 League Two – won 8, drawn 7, lost 8. Goals scored 23, conceded 26.

Season 2014-2015 League Two – won 13, drawn 6, lost 4. Goals scored 34, conceded 14.

Season 2015-2016 League Two – won 12, drawn 3, lost 8. Goals scored 39, conceded 26.

This season League Two – won 11, drawn 3, lost 7. Goals scored 33, conceded 27. Two games still to play.
