Plymouth Argyle defender Mathias Doumbe has been included in the Championship Team of the Week after his performance against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The French right-back was up against tricky winger Hameur Bouazza and put in a fine defensive performance to thwart Charlton’s dangerman. Doumbe also scored Argyle’s first goal in the 39th minute with a thumping header from a Luke Summerfield corner.

The match ended all square at 2-2, with Charlton goalscorer Kelly Youga also picked as one of the top players from the weekend.

The Championship Team of the Week is voted for by the Press Association.

  • Doumbe is a solid defender but centre back in his best position. He is getting better at right back and is starting to venture forward more. Congrats.

When I first saw you were playing right back at Watford I immediately thought oh no!! after remembering your previous efforts there under Pulis.
