What happened to the 14 players that left Argyle at the end of last season?

Did they all find a new club, who is still looking, will the loan players break through into the first team at their club? Let’s find out!

Striker Lewis Alessandra declined the offer of a new contract at Home Park and opted to sign for League One side Rochdale to be closer to his family.

Youngster River Allen, who some fans believe was harshly treated, has signed a one year contract with National League (Conference) team Gateshead after impressing in a trial.

Charlton loanee striker Zak Ansah returned to his parent club and is a part of Charlton’s pre-season squad.

Jason Banton (pictured above) signed for League Two and last season’s play-off opponents Wycombe Wanderers, it’s believed the former Crystal Palace player wanted to be close to his London base.

Midfielder Dominic Blizzard is still searching for a new club.

Left-back Tarieq Holmes-Dennis was another player borrowed from Charlton and he too returned back home and is playing in pre-season games and scored a stunning goal against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Everton loanee Gethin Jones went back to the Premier League club and is currently part of the Everton under-21 squad on a pre-season tour of Ireland.

The last two years for Matt Lecointe have been blighted by serious injuries; despite another contract for a year in 2014 he didn`t fully recover and was sadly released.

Olly Lee wasn’t eligible for the two play-off games at the end of last season and returned to Birmingham City where he was promptly released, the midfielder is still searching for a new club.

Following an unsuccessful loan spell at Hartlepool during the second half of last season striker Marvin Morgan was released by the Greens and signed for National League South club Havant and Waterlooville in the summer.

Midfielder Ollie Norburn is currently having a trial at Scottish team Inverness Caledonian Thistle and has been playing in the pre-season friendlies.

Anthony O’Connor declined the offer of a new deal at Argyle and signed a two-year contract with Burton who were recently promoted to League One.

Jamie Richards is another youngster who didn’t make the grade at Home Park and is training with Devon neighbours Torquay United and was an unused substitute in the pre-season game against the Greens on Tuesday.

Midfield playmaker Bobby Reid returned to Bristol City after a successful loan spell at Argyle and is playing games in the pre-season tour of Portugal. Theres still a possibility that he could come back to the Pilgrims this season.
