If you can keep your head when all about you,
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when most of Fratton doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can remember the wins at Donny and Exeter,
Or the late resurgence at Cheltenham and Crawley:

If you can dream of it happening again at Pompey,
If you can head like Sonny,
If you can meet with Cook and Roberts,
And treat those two as impostors,
If you do battle at the South coast port,
Or win on Monday at our Home we call Park:

If you can make one heap of all your wins,
And risk it on one turn of a promotion coin,
And win, and start again in League One,
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew,
To help your team mates and those watching in Green,
And so hold on when Derek says,
‘do it for the Green Army’:

If Graham can score that goal and be a hero,
And Luke make it count with a save,
If you can show passion as much as any fan,
You’ll walk as a King amongst the Green Army,
If you can fill this unforgiving match,
With 90 minutes worth of distance run,
And with Plymouth the city standing tall behind you,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Pilgrim, my son!

With apologies to Rudyard Kipling.

Come On You Greens!
