The Green Army will have to travel even more miles for season 2014-2015.

Long trips to League Two newcomers Carlisle, Tranmere and Cambridge will see the Pilgrims’ clock up 11,652 miles when they hit the road for all 23 league away games, an increase from 10,959 miles last season and 10,908 from season 2012-2013.

The longest journey will be to Carlisle, who were relegated from League One, with a round trip of 778 miles, while the shortest will be to Devon neighbours Exeter City at just 92 miles.

We lost Torquay and Bristol Rovers to the Conference which were very short trips by our standards.

Despite the long distances the fans will still turn out in numbers as proven last season when Argyle had the third highest travelling support in League Two with just over 17,000 members of the Green Army watching their team in action in the far flung corners of the UK.
That’s an incredible average of 746 fans at each away league game.
