Plymouth gained a credible draw away to Wolves in the Championship clash at Molineux on New Years Eve, with defender Elliott Ward putting Plymouth ahead against the run of play. Colin Cameron equalised for Wolves soon after and Wolves went on to dominate the game although Plymouth had a great chance to steal all 3 points in the closing minutes but substitute Keith Lasley’s shot hit the post.

Plymouth returned to Home Park for the Bank Holiday game against Leeds United broadcast live on Sky tv. Plymouth were without midfielder David Norris through suspension and striker Nick Chadwick who was nursing a hamstring injury. These two losses were to prove fatal to the already thin Argyle squad.
The first half was an even affair with Plymouth having the better goal scoring chances, but the second half was completely different as Leeds went on to score three goals and outclass the home side in front of the Sky camera’s.
After the game, loanee’s Jason Jarrett and Matt Derbyshire returned to their parent clubs.

The transfer window is now open but as yet Plymouth have not ventured into the transfer market, although they have been linked to several strikers, including James Hayter at Bournemouth and more recently Tranmere Rovers’ Delroy Facey and Rory Fallon at Swindon Town.
Argyle manager Tony Pulis said he is not going to panic about getting new players in:’ I’m not going to panic and sign just anybody because we are short. The chairman has said there is money available if I want it but it’s about getting the right players at the right price, I’m not going to rush’.

Heading out of the club could be midfield play maker Akos Buzsaky with a national newspaper reporting that Premiership side West Bromwich Albion are ready to bid £1.2m. Pulis has said he wants to keep Buzsaky and he would be amazed if Buzsaky is not still at Plymouth when the transfer window closes. It could be that West Brom defender Darren Moore holds the key to the Buzsaky transfer, with a player plus cash deal an option for Tony Pulis.

Meanwhile Plymouth again travel to Molineux on Saturday but this time it’s for the 3rd round of the FA cup.
Plymouth have a depleted squad for this game with loanee defender Elliott Ward missing because West Ham United do not want him cup-tied and Nick Chadwick is still injured leaving Pulis with just two fit strikers. Akos Buzsaky is doubtful although his place could be taken by David Norris who has returned from a one match suspension.
