The referee for Argyle’s crucial League Two game against Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground on Saturday is Mark Heywood.

The West Yorkshire-based official was last in charge of an Argyle game in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in September 2013 which ended in a 3-3 draw against Cheltenham before Argyle progressed to the next round after winning a penalty shoot-out.

Heywood will be assisted by Darren Strain and Paul Thompson while the fourth official is Joseph Johnson.

Accrington dropped to sixth place on Tuesday following a 3-1 home defeat against Portsmouth, they are eight points behind Argyle with a game in hand.
