The referee for Argyle’s League Two game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Friday is Chris Sarginson.

The Staffordshire-based official was last in charge of an Argyle game in February this season when the Greens lost 3-2 to Leyton Orient at Home Park, the opinion of many Argyle fans at that game was that Sarginson had a poor game.

Sarginson was also the man in the middle at Fratton Park in April last season when Argyle beat Portsmouth 2-1 with late goals coming from Jamille Matt and Gregg Wylde.

This season Sarginson, who took charge of the EFL Trophy final at Wembley earlier this month, has issued 111 yellow cards and seven red cards in 36 games.

He will be assisted on Friday by Marvyn Amphlett and Chris Husband while the fourth official is John Brooks.
