John Sheridan will remain as manager of Plymouth Argyle.

The club have announced that Sheridan has agreed in principle to stay on at Home Park although a few details are still to be ironed out with a deal expected to be sealed within the next few days.

This is fantastic news for everyone connected to PAFC!

When Sheridan took over as manager in January Argyle looked dead and buried. The team had just been thumped 4-0 at Port Vale and were in the relegation zone in League Two, one point away from safety and played two more games than our relegation rivals.

Sheridan had a mammoth task and had 19 games to save us following the sacking of Carl Fletcher.
The former Chesterfield boss achieved the impossible and saved Argyle from relegation with a point to spare following the game against Rochdale last Saturday.
His record of eight wins, four draws and seven defeats saw a return of 28 points from a possible 57 which if based over a full season would see Argyle on 67 points and just outside a play-off place.

Welcome back on board the good ship Mayflower, John.
