Plymouth Argyle’s League Two game against Southend United on Saturday has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Extreme weather conditions across the UK meant the Roots Hall pitch was unplayable despite being covered for most of this week.

Southend, who occupy a play-off place, have lost their last three league games while new Argyle boss John Sheridan would have been keen for the game to go ahead following a win in his first game against Morecambe last week and the boost of two new additions to his squad in Anthony Charles and Gozie Ugwu, who both signed on Thursday.

No new date for the game has been announced.
