Defender Robbie Williams has been released by Plymouth Argyle.

The move by mutual consent allows Williams to find another club before the transfer window ‘slams’ shut this evening at 11pm.

The left-back joined Argyle during the summer of 2011 while the club was still in administration and agreed to play for no wages to help keep the club afloat during those difficult financial times.

The 29-year old, who also played a few games at centre-back, found himself out of favour at Home Park following the arrival of new manager John Sheridan.

Williams made 46 appearances for the Greens and scored five goals.

Good luck and thanks Robbie!
