Tyler Harvey’s goal scoring performance against Torquay United on Boxing Day provided further evidence that the Argyle youth system is producing a regular supply of first-team players.

Argyle boss Carl Fletcher handed Harvey his full debut for the Christmas Devon Derby and the 17-year old striker rescued a deserved point for the Pilgrims’ with a fine 90th minute strike.

The late goal re-wrote the Green record books with Harvey now the youngest player to score on his full debut for the club.
Harvey also became the youngest player to score in League Two this season, beating 18-year old Jake Forster-Caskey at Oxford United.

Argyle’s goal scoring youth success doesn’t end there because Curtis Nelson and Luke Young (pictured above) are currently the seventh and eighth youngest goal scorers in League Two this season.

Last season Argyle also held the record for the youngest goal scorer in League Two with Matt Lecointe claiming the accolade at just 16 years old.

All four Argyle youngsters came through the youth system at Home Park with Young, Lecointe and Harvey all born in Plymouth.
