Argyle’s 2-0 win against Southend United at Home Park on Saturday gave the Greens their best home league start to a season for 10 years.

Argyle are notoriously slow starters at home but this season the first three league games at Home Park have yielded seven points from two wins and a draw.
The last time Argyle started the season with as many points at home was in 2004-2005 in the first season in the Championship when Sunderland and Nottingham Forest were beaten and honours were shared against Millwall.

The Pilgrims were actually unbeaten at home in the first three games of the 2007-2008 season but could only manage three draws.

Granted, it is only three games this season, however it does represent a rare good start for John Sheridan and his team.
