Plymouth Argyle boss Carl Fletcher is a contender for the vacant managerial position at Championship side Crystal Palace.

Sky Sports have reported that Fletcher is on the list to replace Dougie Freedman who left Selhurst Park last week to take over at Bolton Wanderers.

Fletch, a former Palace player, was handed his first managerial job at Home Park last season and steered Argyle to relegation safety in League Two despite only picking up one point from the first nine games.
This season the 32-year old has continued to impress many observers with the team playing attractive football, although consistent results haven’t yet followed.

There is also speculation that Fletch could be part of a double-act at Selhurst Park with Steve Coppell arriving as a Director of Football.
