No Despondency At Plymouth

Tony Pulis has told his troops ‘We mustn’t get too despondent – that’s only one defeat in seven – but we know we need to improve in certain areas.’ Following the Sky live game on against Millwall on Sunday. The 0-0 draw wasn’t an impressive display and Pulis said:

‘The big disappointment for me today was that, for a majority of the game, I thought we were better than Millwall – we created the better chances, had the better opportunities. That’s four times in the last two games that we have hit the post. We need a little bit of luck. We have created the opportunities to go in front, and we have not taken those opportunities. We have got round the back of them a few times, got crosses in, but we are not looking as though we are going to score. That is worrying, obviously, because you have got to score goals to win games.’

He also says, on the official site, he tried to change things and push on for a victory:

‘We made three substitutions, bringing all the forwards on that we had on the bench to try and win the game. To be honest, we were stretched in the last quarter of an hour but that was because we were trying to win the game.’
