The David Norris ‘will he,won’t he’ saga deepened today with the Pilgrims breaking their silence for the first time.
A statement made on the official site states ‘ARGYLE can confirm that they have received a written request for a transfer from midfielder David Norris.
After due consideration, the request has been refused by the club.’
As reported previously Norris handed in a transfer request on Friday, this was refused verbally yesterday and in writing today.
It is thought that the club are holding out for a higher fee for the want away midfielder who is held in the highest regard by Argyle fans. Because of the 50% sell of clause in David’s contract it is understood that the board are looking for a fee of around £2.5 million for the versatile workhorse after negotiations with Bolton to reduce the percentage proved fruitless.
