The first Championship statistics of the season have been revealed and Plymouth Argyle are second-bottom of the shooting league.

After two league games the Pilgrims’ have had seven shots on-target and seven shots off-target, narrowly ahead of shot-shy Doncaster Rovers who have had just one shot less than Paul Sturrock’s side.

Jamie Mackie (pictured above) leads the way for Argyle with three attempts on-goal, followed by Alan Judge, Jim Paterson and Cillian Sheridan who each have had two attempts on-goal, although new signing Sheridan has only played 45 minutes.

Top of the shooting league are Queens Park Rangers who have had an incredible 15 shots on-target and 19 efforts off-target. The Loftus Road club, who drew 1-1 with Argyle on Saturday, have also hit the woodwork four times.

It could be a long, hard season unless the Argyle players find their shooting boots and improve their attempts on-goal ratio.
