Plymouth Vital has teamed up with Green Umbrella Publishing to offer Argyle fans the chance to win one of four copies of Ian Holloway’s new autobiography, ‘Ollie’.

The book went on sale on Monday 17th September, priced at £16.99 and the Argyle boss will take part in several book-signing sessions to promote his autobiography.

The Plymouth Vital competition has four copies of ‘Ollie’ up for grabs, with two books signed by Holloway himself.

Best known for his outspoken manner and eminently quotable comments, football manager, Ian Holloway, reveals many other sides to his character in this compelling new book.

Holloway played more than 500 league games for Bristol Rovers, Wimbledon and QPR before re-joining Bristol Rovers in 1996 as player-manager. After a 5-year spell as boss of QPR he subsequently became the manager of Plymouth Argyle and promised to take the club into the Premiership. Famously, after Plymouth Argyle’s first away win under his leadership, Holloway promised to buy each of the 700 travelling fans a drink.

Holloway says: ‘The stories from my career are all here, of course, but I didn’t want this book to be simply about football because my life is a lot more than just that. This is the story of my family life, the problems my wife and children have been through, and how I balance it with work.’

Ollie, at just 44 years of age, has a lifetime behind him and a glittering football management career ahead. His book is essential reading for those wishing to understand his motivations and learn more about Ian Holloway the man.
