Several leading Bookmakers have named Plymouth Argyle as one of the favourites for relegation for next season.

It happens every season and will come as no surprise to Argyle fans that their team has once again been placed as one of the least favourites for promotion to the Premier League and in doing so become favourites for relegation to League One.

The Bookmakers always predict that the Pilgrims will be relegated from the Championship at the end of each season and every time Argyle defy the odds and stay up.

For season 2009-2010 Argyle are placed alongside Barnsley and Blackpool as joint-second favourites to be relegated, with Scunthorpe the bookies favourites to go down.

The bookies always select the teams who have been recently relegated from the Premier League as the favourites for promotion with Newcastle United expected to win the Championship, followed close behind by West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough.

Can Argyle defy the odds once again?

We’ve been there, not done it and haven’t got the T-shirt, may it last a bit longer. The bookies odds are just the motivation we need, last term we defied both the bookies and the finishing 10th hoodoo; so next season we will make the play-offs, and we haven’t even got a full team yet. Now that is keeping the faith, COYGs.

Forgive me for being pedantic but aren’t Scunthorpe favourites for relegation?
