Argyle played five league games during the opening month of the new season, winning two games and losing three in what was a very average start to the campaign.
John Sheridan’s side finished the month in 15th place in League Two.
The Greens also narrowly lost 3-2 to Birmingham in the Capital One Cup.

So who has been the best player during August.

New signing Lewis Alessandra was Argyle’s joint-highest scorer during August with two goals against Birmingham in the Capital One Cup.

Durrell Berry had a consistent opening to the new season, firstly at right-back before switching to the left-back berth.

Tough centre-back Guy Branston missed the first few games of the season because of injuries but returned to stiffen the defence for the wins against Cheltenham and Rochdale.

Skipper Conor Hourihane has led the team from midfield and scored a cracking 20-yard goal at Cheltenham.

Striker Marvin Morgan has been the focal point of Argyle`s attacking play and chipped in with a goal against Cheltenham as well as winning two penalties.

Reuben Reid scored two penalties including the winner against Rochdale.
