Plymouth Argyle have signed striker Marvin Morgan on a two-year contract.

The 30-year old 6-foot 4-inch tall targetman was released by Shrewsbury Town at the end of last season after playing a huge role in securing promotion from League Two in 2011 by scoring 11 goals.
The Manchester-born striker also weighed in with eight goals and 10 goal assists last season to help Shrewsbury finish the season in a credible midtable position.

The signing of Morgan is manager John Sheridan’s fifth signing of the summer following the capture of Luke McCormick, Lewis Alessandra, Reuben Reid and Dominic Blizzard as he looks to build a squad capable of success in League Two.

Morgan attracted interest from several clubs in January including some in the Championship so this appears to be a marquee signing for Argyle.
Sheridan’s team now look to have several attacking options with a forward line the envy of many League Two clubs.

Welcome aboard the good ship Mayflower, Marvin.
