Two goals from Conor Hourihane secured a credible end of season draw against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Portsmouth 3 – 3 Argyle.

A very good end of season game played in a cracking atmosphere. With the chances Pompey had we should have been beaten out of sight but credit to the players for battling back three times.

Hourihane started at left wing back but it meant our midfield was exposed and couldn’t stop wave after wave of early Pompey attacks. Young and particularly Harvey were totally lost.

After 15 minutes Sheridan went to a 4 3 3 formation with Hourihane going into midfield and it stemmed the tide – Sheridan can influence a game!

Pompey’s goals all came from poor defending not helped by Cole not even dominating his goal line let alone his 6 yard box.

Reid’s 21st goal came from a short corner and Hourihane’s goal was from a great free kick.
Hourihane’s late leveller was all about bravery when some other players would have bottled the challenge for the ball.
Hourihane was easily our best player and Thomas provided some spark when he came on.

Overall Pompey were the better team and deserved to win but credit to the Greens for battling away.

Harvey isn’t a midfielder and should have been subbed a lot earlier. Young gave the ball away several times, it wasn’t his day.

Reid and Alessandra played well in fits and starts. Our main problem is failing to kerp the ball, too often we hit it long only for the ball to quickly return.

Congrats to Wottsie! 491!.

A decent game that highlighted our short comings once again.

Man of the match. Hourihane.
