Ipswich Target Norris Transfer

Plymouth Argyle midfielder David Norris is a transfer target for Ipswich Town.

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has seen two offers for Norris rejected by the Pilgrims.

Magilton tried to sign Norris last season but his offer was rebuffed and followed that up with a second bid for the hard-working midfielder this summer and that was again knocked back.

Speaking to the Evening Star, Magilton said: ‘I spoke to Ian Holloway about Norris but was rebuffed. It went to board level, but Plymouth made it clear he was not for sale, so that is the end of it for now.’

Norris is regarded as one of Argyle’s better players and is a big favourite with the fans.
The 26-year old has two years left on his contract after arriving from Bolton Wanderers in 2002 for £25,000.

The Peterborough-born player has made no secret of his desire to one-day return to a club nearer his roots and was linked with a move to Norwich City last season.
It remains to be seen if Ipswich will return with a third and more tempting offer for Norris.

That is one player who we keep regardless of the price. Norris can return there when he is 31 and not a day before.

I see our plan of telling everyone that David Norris was one of our worst players has failed. I would hate to see him playing in any colours but ours.

  • Stapes says:

Magilton is out of order making those comments in public! Argyle should report him to the FA.

I think he’s over rated. Can’t score for the life of him, runs round like a headless chicken, no bottle and is injury prone. A typical Premiership player; sell him to a Premier club for £10 million

bitter and twisted and u support??? injury prone u wat he’s never injured u fool! if u are a argyle fan u must not go to games and are very young.

  • Snafubar says:

Green Giant – refer back to the post ‘telling everyone that DN is our worst player so that nobody will come in for him’

  • tommytynansjockstrap says:

i agree,he’s absolute rubbish…and way too short to make it as a pro footballer!!!;)

  • ArgyleNeil says:

Its the fact that he is so damn lazy that bothers me, absolutely no commitment or effort whatsoever

  • Snafubar says:

And how he managed to get POTY when he never even played that season… I never even realised he was still at the club!

  • miked_joker says:

There are a lot of clubs who don’t think he is rubbish and he would be easy to sell. Its quite obvious he is not for sale.
