Plymouth Argyle are set to sign Manchester United winger Lee Martin on loan.

The 20-year old Taunton-born player is wanted by Argyle boss Ian Holloway on-loan with a view to a permanent move, according to reports in a national newspaper.

Martin played in Manchester United’s midweek Carling Cup defeat against Coventry City before being substituted at half time.

Martin has had loan spells at Glasgow Rangers and Stoke City and at one time was hailed as the next David Beckham. The pacy wide-man has also spent time at United’s Belgian feeder club Royal Antwerp and despite only playing 17 games he was named as the Player of The Season.

Holloway has built up a friendly relationship with Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson who is set to agree to Holloway’s request to sign Martin.

Holloway has lost the plot, we need more defenders not another attacker!

The way that Norris has played and how he did not celebrate his goal the other week leads me to wonder…what if he’s decided he wants out or is uncertain where his future lies? With Llarys Mbalia comming back to fitness we will see if we need another defender or not.

I think we do still need attacking options. Barry isnt doing much this year and I still dont have the faith in either Chadwick or Fallon. Also another winger could give us more options for formation.

Norris was very poor yesterday, Buzsaky looked tired and mis-passed on at least 6 occassions including giving the ball away that led directly to Wolves’ goal. Holloway gives Hayles more respect in the form of pitch time than his performances deserve of late….although SEB was also not in the game yesterday so who do you take off when so many key players are not on their game!

One of the players that got beaten by Coventry is leaving? First of many, I expect. This guy will be a replacement for Bojan. Must be a cheaper option to use as back-up.

i have heard a rumour that holloway has got a couple of players in mind as is going to sell either norris or eblanks to raise the money cause the tight board wont give him any , and we wonder why he is getting loan players in , dosn’t want to change the team he has got but needs to add but cant
