Plymouth Argyle striker Anthony Mason is set to join non-league side Bridgwater Town on-loan.
The young Argyle forward could sign in time to play in Bridgwater’s game against Thatcham Town on Saturday.
The Republic of Ireland Under-19 international is yet to make a first-team appearance for Argyle since signing a professional contract in May but was included on the bench in last season’s FA Cup Third Round clash away to Peterborough United.
Mason, 19, has recently recovered from a broken arm but needs to be given the all clear from the Pilgrims’ doctors before joining Bridgwater. Town co-manager Craig Laird explains: ‘Argyle want to make sure that Mason has been signed off by the doctor before he comes on loan.’
Bridgwater currently occupy sixth place in the Southern Football League – Division One South & West, sponsored by British Gas Business and have an average attendance of 262 for this season.
