Plymouth Argyle are slowly and surely ploughing through the mammoth 10,908 miles needed to visit all 23 league grounds this season.

The next two away trips to Fleetwood and Bradford will be the third and fourth longest journey’s this season, with the Greens clocking up 1301 miles on the motorways.
Those nice chaps at the Football League decided that Argyle must complete two long trips within a few days of each other with Fleetwood programmed into the Sat Nav for Saturday and Bradford on Tuesday. Cheers!
However, Argyle have hatched a cunning plan to negotiate the travelling obstacle set-up by the Football League and will stay up north after the Fleetwood game and travel across to Bradford for the midweek game.
Carl Fletcher’s team will train at Football Conference North club Guiseley in preparation of the game in Yorkshire on Tuesday.

The away trip to Morecambe in September was Argyle’s second-longest road trip this season, knocking 660 miles off the clock.

The Pilgrims’ have played eight away league games so far this season with trips to Dagenham & Redbridge (505 miles), Oxford (392), the bus stop jaunt to Torquay (just 68), the bum-numbing 660 mile round trip to Morecambe, Wycombe (445), Barnet (404), Cheltenham (314) and Rotherham 580 miles all completed.
After burning rubber to Fleetwood and Bradford there’s just another 6,239 miles to suffer!

The visit to York City in April will be the longest excursion at 676 miles, just one of six trips of over 600 miles to navigate through this season.

As you would expect the Green Army turned up in numbers for the eight away leagues games this season, with 545 clicking the turnstiles at Dagenham, 770 at Oxford, a huge 1,514 members of the Green Army at Torquay, congratulations to the 358 die-hards who went to Morecambe, 494 midweek at Wycombe, 1,053 at Barnet, 670 for the short journey to Cheltenham and 633 fans travelling to Yorkshire for the game against Rotherham.

The total number of travelling Argyle fans this season stands at 6,037 which is close to the average gate at Home Park this season, with an average away support of 754; almost the same as last season’s average of 749 which was the third highest in League Two.
