Three Names On List For Argyle Job

The race to replace Carl Fletcher as manager of Plymouth Argyle has been narrowed down to three candidates.

The Herald newspaper reports that Keith Hill, Kevin Blackwell and John Sheridan are on a shortlist of three names, although the Herald did report yesterday that there was a shortlist of five names with only Hill included on that list, however I believe the Herald has got it right this time.

For me Hill (pictured above) is still the standout candidate, he knows his way around League Two, has previous Argyle connections as a player and is available after departing from Barnsley last week.
PAFC needs a rebuilding job and that is exactly what Hill does – he builds football clubs.

Blackwell is also a former Pilgrims’ player and would be a good choice, although he is currently manager at Bury so a compensation fee might hinder his chances of managing Argyle.

Sheridan could be described as a dark horse; he has hardly been mentioned so far but now finds himself on the shortlist.
The former Republic of Ireland international steered Chesterfield to the League Two title in season 2010/2011 but the Spirites were relegated back to League Two at the end of last season and Sheridan left the club just after this season started.

Come home Keith!

Keith Hill is my choice but Blackie would be ok. We need a manager before the game against Morecambe.

Hill, Blackwell and Sheridan are three good candidates, I’ll be happy with any one of them.

Of the three hill would be my first choice, but honestly any one of them would be good. Lets just get it sorted out quickly so we can get on with the job at hand.
