Who has been Plymouth Argyle’s best player during August?

The Pilgrims’ have had a poor start to the season and are without a win in six games.
During August Argyle played five games in the Championship, drawing two and losing three and were also dumped out of the Carling Cup – going down 2-1 to League One side Gillingham in the First Round.
The Greens have scored six goals and conceded 12.

However, despite the miserable start to the new campaign there have been good performances from some players and we have narrowed the contenders for the Argyle Player Of The Month vote down to five players.

New signing Alan Gow is Argyle’s top goal scorer this season with a penalty against Cardiff City and a superb free-kick in Saturday’s game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Romain Larrieu has pulled off some excellent saves in goal during August. The French stopper is yet to keep a clean sheet but Argyle’s plight would be a lot worse if it wasn’t for Larrieu.

Jamie Mackie has been one of Argyle’s more consistent performers during August with his usual all-action, energetic style of play.

Right-back David McNamee showed his undoubted qualities as a defender in August before injury once again cut short his spell in the first-team.

Left-back Jim Paterson has been converted to a central midfield role and has had a good consistent start to the season.

Who do you think has been Argyle’s best player in August? Take part in our poll and have your say.
