Plymouth Argyle have signed Exeter City striker Jamie Mackie in a £145,000 deal.
Mackie handed in a transfer request last week and stated his intention to join Argyle and now the move has been sealed with the transfer fee set to increase depending on appearances.
The 22-year old frontman has scored 14 goals this season in the Blue Square Premier League helping Exeter into 8th position in the table.
It will be a huge jump from non-league to the Championship for Mackie but Argyle boss Paul Sturrock will see the striker as a player for the future.
Exeter’s Director of Football Steve Perryman wished Mackie good luck, he said: “We wish Jamie all the luck in the world, he is a smashing lad and wants to further his career, something all players should want.
“He feels he can play at a higher level and if he continues to work as hard as he has then he will only get better.”

Good peice of brinkmanship by Exeter to squeeze more dosh out of us. That sell on clause could hurt in the future but let’s hope he’s a hero for us. Defenders next please.
