Plymouth Argyle striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has been arrested following an alleged bottling incident outside a Plymouth nightclub.

Ebanks-Blake was arrested by police at 4.15am on Sunday in the city’s nightclub district and interviewed at a nearby police station. The 21-year old striker was released on bail pending further enquiries.

The former Manchester United striker is Argyle’s top scorer this season and played a prominent part in the 3-0 home win over Norwich City on Saturday.

A spokesman for Plymouth Argyle spoke of the arrest: ‘We are aware that an incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.
‘As it is the subject of a police inquiry, we feel it would be inappropriate for the club to comment further.’
