With John Sheridan now in place as the new manager and Argyle deep in relegation trouble the inevitable transfer rumours will do the rounds.

With the January transfer window open and the Pilgrims’ needing to sign new players to fight against relegation who is being linked with a move to Home Park?

In recent weeks several first-team players have left Argyle; Darren Purse, Alex MacDonald, Mark Molesley and Guy Madjo will all need to be replaced.
Two or three new players heading down the A38 before the game against Morecambe on Saturday will certainly give everyone a boost.

Sheridan will have his contacts within football and he has a history of signing players that he has worked with before.

Neil Trotman was captain at Chesterfield under Sheridan and has recently been placed on the transfer list by the Spireites.
Argyle are need of a dominant centre-back and the 25-year old could fit the bill.

Two other Chesterfield players have also been placed on the transfer list.
Experienced defender Terrell Forbes would be a good signing for Argyle and with just six months left on his contract at the Proact Stadium his arrival at Home Park would appear to be a good bet.
Striker Craig Westcarr is another Chesterfield player who might interest Sheridan. The former Nottingham Forest striker has six months left on his contract and has been on-loan at Walsall this season.

The local press in Swindon have reported that Argyle are interested in giant centre-back Aden Flint.
The former captain of Alfreton Town is another player with a contract set to expire in the summer although the 23-year old is expected to sign a new deal with Swindon.

Eyes peeled for new rumours, it will be an interesting few days before the Morecambe game!
