The weekend is looming and Plymouth Argyle will be keen to put last weeks defeat behind them and look for 3 home points against Leicester on Saturday.
It is the return of the foxes this weekend to Home Park and as is becoming traditional for them, Leicester have given their manager the boot in the time surrounding their trip to the westcountry.
The press reports indicate that new chairman Milan Mandaric and the Leicester boss Martin Allen have had a turbulent ride and that a lack of shared vision has been attributed to the early departure of Allen`s managerial services.
The skeptics among us might be heard to say that 3 months isn`t really enough time, however I believe we should leave Leicester`s problems to Leicester and worry about all things green for the time being.
It may be said that there is an advantage to playing a team who have had such a rocky week in the board room, however they might have something to prove and if we are talking about traditions I am hoping our tradition is not going to be the leaking of early goals.
Our first three matches of the season have seen us let in the first goal each game with two of them coming in the first 2 minutes. This for me is the most worrying aspect of our start to the new campaign and I am sure will also be troubling Mr Holloway.
Some positives however could be taken from Tuesdays cup match with Doncaster when what could be considered as the reserve side had an excellent win and a clean sheet.
The Stats for this match on the official website suggest that the pilgrims had a staggering 82% of possession in this match.
If asked to predict what changes will be made to the first team after looking at Last Saturday and Tuesday the first place I would look would be between the sticks.
I believe that Luke McCormick will be making a start this weekend after a not so bright start to the season by Romain Larrieu, the strike partnership will also be a place for change on Saturday and I would be very surprised if Sylvan Ebanks-Blake doesn`t get a run out from the start, whether this will be with Mr Hayles, Mr Fallon or Mr Chadwick I do not know.
Finally I would like to see a change to the centre of defence and either Seip or Doumbe moving to make way for the beast that is Timar.
Of course all this is just my own guesswork but I am confident after hearing Ollie`s comments about our performance that the starting 11 will not remain unchanged from the last couple of league fixtures. Here`s to a good game on Saturday with no early goal from the visitors and a deserving 3 points for the mighty greens.
It looks potive for Saturday, However They did thump Watford on Saturday so we need to be aware of that.
We shouldn’t be worrying about the opposition, we’re the home team so let them worry about us. Ollie does have a difficult decision or two to make, particularly up front and at the back. I would like to see Blankety-Blank and Chadders get the nod and Timar and Doumbe at the back, if those two could click then Seip would be freed up to play a defensive midfield role. Whoops!! we all think we can manage a pro team but we are not there so I will leave it to Ollie to figure this one out. Best of luck to Ollie’s boys, God willing I’ll be there to give my support.
Why would Chadwick get the nod???? SEB yes of course because he’s scoring and looks fit but Chadwick C’mon he did nothing AGAIN the other night…..i’m afraid he’s run out of chances for me!
