With the first month of the new Championship season now completed, who has been the best Plymouth Argyle player during August?

The Pilgrims had a steady start to the season, playing five games, winning three, drawing one and losing the other. Those games included the two Carling Cup wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Doncaster Rovers, while in the league Argyle picked up four points from the first three games.

Who do you think was the best Argyle player during the last month?
Let’s have a vote and find out!

Here are the six contenders for the Plymouth Vital Player of the Month award:

Midfielder David Norris scored Argyle’s first goal of the new season in the 3-2 win at Hull City on the opening day of the season. Norris hasn’t been firing on all cylinders just yet, possibly due to increased transfer speculation, but he still has made a contribution to the team.

Striker Rory Fallon has played in four of the first five games for Argyle and notched up a superb goal in the win at Hull.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has been a substitute in Argyle’s first three league games but still managed to score late goals against Hull and Ipswich Town. The powerful striker also found the net against Doncaster in the league cup to take his tally to three goals for the season so far.

Play-maker Akos Buzsaky has started the season well. The Hungarian international midfielder is benefiting from a continued run in the Argyle team.

Young defender Gary Sawyer has made the left-back position his own and his steady and reliable performances have not gone un-noticed.

Hungarian winger Peter Halmosi is crucial to Argyle’s attacking play and has made a good start to the season.

So those are the contenders for the Plymouth Vital Player Of The Month for August.
