Plymouth Argyle transfer target Jermaine Easter has revealed his frustration after his proposed move from Wycombe Wanderers collapsed.
Argyle tabled a £300,000 bid for Easter but the offer was rejected by Wycombe managing director Steve Hayes, who said: ‘Plymouth’s valuation didn’t meet ours. They made a bid of £300,000 which we rejected.
‘I can understand his (Easter’s) disappointment because he would love to make it in the Championship but he has signed a contract with us. If the figure was right we would not stand in his way but we don’t believe the figure is right.’
Easter believes that Wycombe’s valuation is too high and that he is being priced out of the transfer market, he said: ‘I only cost Wycombe £80,000 from Stockport County and now they have turned down an offer more than three times that.
‘I don’t want to rock the boat because I don’t believe that’s the right way to do things. I’m not happy but there’s no point dwelling on it or sulking about it because that would only be to my detriment.
‘I told Steve Hayes that I wanted to go to Plymouth but the club won’t tell me how much money they want for me, which is pretty frustrating.’
The 25-year old striker scored 24 times last season and is out of contract next summer. The Welsh international had hoped to be in Argyle’s squad for Saturday’s Championship game against Leicester City, speaking to the Bucks Press he said: ‘Instead of being part of the Plymouth squad playing against Leicester this weekend it looks as though I’m going to be going to Chesterfield.
‘Plymouth was a good opportunity for me. All I can do is get my head down and keep working for that chance again.’
It remains to be seen if the Pilgrims will come back with an improved offer for the striker before the transfer window closes at midnight.
Argyle boss Ian Holloway is expected to send out some younger members of the Argyle squad on-loan. Midfielder Luke Summerfield and striker Reuben Reid could join clubs in League Two today or when the loan transfer window opens later in September.

That is interesting, if he has really said this it coulsd be a last minute deal that goes through, there is no point keeping someone who doesnt want to be there.
With Reid going to Wymcombe for a 12 month loan and possibly Samba as well then a deal looks more likely than not. And if Easter’s out of contract next year then he’s either going now or in January. Good news about the Larry the new loan signing too.
His Doctor has checked his medication. Any comments he has made about WANTING to come to Plymouth, are said to be down to halucinations.

Could Easter still come the other way on loan when the window opens later in the month? Maybe we couldn’t get the nitty gritty sorted before the deadline.
I would prefer a loan2buy deal. We can see if he is up to the league then. Send Samba the other way as a sweetner.
