Plymouth Argyle midfielder Bojan Djordjic is set to leave Home Park.

The 25-year old winger has a contract with Argyle until June 2008 but is currently in negotiations to have his contract paid-up.
The former Manchester United wide-man is expected to join Swedish club AIK.

Djordjic arrived at Argyle in the summer of 2005 after being signed by former Pilgrims’ manager Bobby Williamson; it was the Serbian-born players’ seventh club following stints at United, Glasgow Rangers and Red Star Belgrade.

However, Williamson was sacked at the start of the 2005-2006 season and Djordjic struggled to make an impression under new boss Tony Pulis, making just 22 league appearances that season.

Djordjic suffered even more when Ian Holloway took over at Home Park last season and was banished to the youth team with Holloway citing Djordjic’s poor attitude as the reason for the punishment.
But the winger knuckled down and forced his way back into the first team and scored a goal in three successive league games midway through last season.

Just as Djordjic was becoming a permanent first-team player fate struck a cruel hand when he injured his cheekbone in the home match against West Bromwich Albion and a three-month spell on the sidelines beckoned.

Holloway spoke of Djordjic’s impending departure, he said: ‘His future will be elsewhere. I’m disappointed, because I don’t like losing out on people that I can’t get the best out of.
‘I sat down with him and had a long chat with him and it will probably be by contract settlement.’

In total Djordjic played 43 games for Argyle with 19 of them being starts, scoring 4 goals.

We’re supposedly short of cash and yet we are going to pay up a contract on Bo? Madness for more reasons than I care to mention.
    1. He is as good as any other midfielder at Argyle currently.
    2. If he is playing he is in the shop window.
    3. If he plays he might commangd a fee and we don’t pay up a contract.
    4. If he plays we don’t have to bring someone else to the club that we pay to warm the bench.
    5. …and most importantly he is given a chance by a blinkered boss and the fans see the player that we no he can be.

GIVE HIM A CHANCE OLLIE….YOU CAN’T AFFORD NOT TO!

Pbennyboy – ABSOLUTELT RIGHT!!!!! At last someone else who agrees with me. Bo is an extremely good player who has simply never been given a chance of a run in the first team. Look at the way Norris is playing at them moment. Clearly he is a want a way, where as with Bo you can see the guy is just desperate to play for the club. Why do we think its wise to bung him a load of cash to go somewhere else to prove his worth. We dont have a big squad and as we are reminded every 4 seconds a lot of players will be out of contract very soon. Beyond madness, he has pedigree, is an eloquent bloke and how the hell Capaldi played left wing ahead of him for last couple of seasons is beyond me. Good luck whatever happens Bo and take pride in the way you have conducted yourself when others would have thrown the towel in long ago.
