Stevenage Borough manager Peter Taylor is interested in making Argyle midfielder Scott Laird a permanent signing after a successful loan spell with the Hertfordshire club.

Laird, who is a Scotland youth international captain, moved on loan to Stevenage earlier this January season and has played three times at left back. His last game was a 5-0 home thrashing of Droylsden.

Scott made his first senior appearance for Argyle against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carling Cup at the start of the season. Generally regarded as a centre-back, Scott filled the role of central midfield.

Scott has also had loan spells with Tiverton Town and Torquay United, before sealing a loan move to Stevenage.

The transfer could be completed later this week, with Argyle and Stevenage agreeing an undisclosed fee. Scott will become the latest Argyle player to leave following five other departures in the transfer window.
