Jamie Mackie has been voted as Plymouth Argyle’s Player of the Month for October by fans who visit the Plymouth Vital website.

Our poll asked fans to vote for the best Argyle player for October and Mackie was a clear winner with 73% of the poll.
On-loan Aston Villa defender Shane Lowry was in second place with 13% and striker Rory Fallon was third with 8% of the vote.

Mackie, who also won the Player of the Month poll for September, was Argyle’s top scorer during October with two goals, including the match-winner against Middlesbrough.
The former Exeter City striker also attracted the interest of Derby County during October with a £1 million transfer on the cards in January. His enthusiasm and work-rate has made him a firm favourite with the Green Army.

Congratulations to Jamie and thanks to everyone that voted.

Well done Jamie, it is deserved. As for Argyle selling him, it should be a no-no, if they real do have aspirations to make it to the top flight of English football. We need players like Jamie to take us there. If the club sell him, just for the money, then we will never achieve anything, not even the play-offs. The other consideration is the affect on home attendances, if he goes. Argyle fans can be quiet fickled in their manner, the club have lost thousands, because of the apparent lack of ambition shown by the previous board. It will take a lot longer to get them back through the turnstiles, and longer if this board sell our best players.
