Plymouth Argyle defender Marcel Seip has set his sights on a move to the Premier League at the end of this season.

The Dutch centre-back has been in great form this season, appearing in every game for Argyle but has revealed that several clubs, including some in the Premier League, have been watching him.

Speaking to a Dutch website Seip has spoken about his move to Argyle from Holland and states that he is happy to stay at Home Park in the short-term but would like a transfer to a bigger club in the summer.

The 25-year old defender, who has 18 months left on his contract, said: ‘My departure from the Netherlands was one of the best decisions I have ever made, I had some problems and wanted to move to a foreign country.
‘When I made a new start in Plymouth all my problems disappeared. I bought a house, I have a new English girlfriend and I live again for football.’

Speaking to Soccernews, Seip spoke of leaving Argyle at the end of the season, he said: ‘A formal offer has not yet been made to Plymouth but I understand that I am under constant surveillance by several clubs.
‘The ideal scenario would be to move in the summer; in the short-term I do not need a transfer.’

The former Heerenveen defender became a free agent in the summer of 2006 and was quickly snapped up by former Argyle boss Ian Holloway and has proved to be an excellent signing, losing Seip would be a huge blow for the Pilgrims.

Doesn’t sound as if he’s too confident of going up with PA then, or is it just a bigger club he wants.

This transfer window has become really unsettling for PAFC. Too many players are rumoured to be leaving and now we have our best defender saying he wants to leave at the end of the season.
