Southampton are keen to take Plymouth Argyle midfielder David Norris on-loan with a view to a permanent transfer in January.

Saints boss George Burley had two offers for the former Bolton Wanderers player turned down by the Pilgrims in August, with the final offer being for £1 million.

However, Norris has now become unsettled at Home Park and a national newspaper has indicated that Burley will make a loan move for Norris and tie up the deal when the transfer window re-opens.

Norris has 18 months left on his current deal at Argyle and has asked for a contract extension but was refused.
The 26-year old live-wire midfielder is regarded as one of Argyle’s better players and is a big favourite with the fans since signing from Bolton in 2002 for £25,000.

Why oh why oh why do you keep saying national newspaper rather than name the source?! It’d save me a whole load of time – now I have to go to each paper til I find the story and decide whether I believe it or not.

And yet, according to Le Tissier, Southampton are in so much financial doo doo that they are closing down their accademy and will sell their best players again to raise cash. Doesn’t make any sense to me especially as the orriginal report was in The Sun (checkout BBC football gossip rogthedog)

Norris hasn’t bothered to put his usual effort in since August. Capaldi got away with it because he had a lazy style of play but Norris is normally all action but not this season and it’s very evident. Bye Chuck and thanks.

Whats with all the moaning. He was told to wait until after the busy summer that we all know we are going to be getting. When that happened he then asked for a pay rise. Again he was told he was going to have to wait until after the summer when so many players are likely to come ang o butthat he would be offered a new contract.
Now that the fans are adding to the rumours and getting unsettled themselves id want to go to. Why dont we all get on the stands and start singing “we love you norris we do” make him feel wanted and make him want to stay and put the effort back in.
