Plymouth Argyle have signed Crystal Palace winger Jason Banton on a one month loan deal.

The pacy 20-year old is new Pilgrims’ boss John Sheridan’s sixth signing and will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game against Dagenham and Redbridge at Home Park.

Banton started his youth career at Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Arsenal, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers as a youngster.
In the summer of 2011 he signed a one-year deal with Leicester City and soon moved to Burton Albion on-loan making one appearance.

He then moved to America and spent time at a training camp with the Seattle Sounders before returning to the UK and impressed during a game for the Crystal Palace under-21 team.
A one-year contract until the end of this season was agreed and Banton made his Palace debut in the FA Cup game against Stoke City earlier this month.

Banton is short on experience but the Argyle team lacks a pacy wingman and is sure to start the game on Saturday.

Welcome aboard the good ship Mayflower, Jason!
